For owners who need multi-day care while travelling, Ottawa Bird House offers a small-capacity home setting in Kanata with a three-day minimum and a booking review before any stay is confirmed.
We mainly accept budgies, cockatiels, lovebirds, finches, canaries and similar small parakeets. Another species can still be submitted through the request form, but the setup and price need manual review.
Birds from different households are not intentionally placed together or asked to share a cage. If multiple birds already live together safely, they can be included on one request. The standard $10/day rate applies to up to two cohabiting accepted small birds.
We review the dates, species, number of birds, recent health history, medication needs, diet and routine. The request is not a confirmed reservation until those details and capacity are accepted.
FAQ
Bring the bird’s usual cage whenever possible, enough normal food for the stay, preferred treats if you want them used, and clear instructions for feeding, sleep and handling.
